Tristan,
I love your website. I am a tenant who is having issues with my landlord. I realize you primarily offer advice to landlords but your blogs have given me some insight on what my landlord is thinking. That is very helpful since he does not respond to our phone calls, letters, or emails so I am completely ignorant as to why he is trying to evict us.
We are current on our rent, very polite to other tenants and neighbors, and do not cause any problems other than the lady downstairs saying “we walk too loud” and that is causing a “disturbance”. We have hardwood floors and my gf and I have tried really hard to walk a little more quietly but Geeze! I am really sorry but we do walk around every once in awhile. Neither my gf or I are more than 150 lbs. and I do not understand why the woman downstairs is complaining to the landlord about us “walking around”. We do have to get up to eat every once in awhile and the bathroom is also something we have to walk to. It has gotten to the point that my gf and I both are scared to get off the couch and walk to the kitchen because we are afraid to “disturb” the woman downstairs.
Anyway, I appreciate your blog. I understand you mainly are here for landlords who have been railroaded by tenants…but sometimes the tenants are being “ran-over” by the landlord and the “crazy lady” underneath us who wants us to “slither” across the floor noiselessly any time we need to move to another room rather than walk.

Thanks for you compliment. Yes, there are good and bad in every profession, including both landlords and tenants, I hope you are able to resolve your situation.
